Step 1: Prepare and protect yourself

• Restrict access: Use wet floor signs or other barriers to prevent others from entering the contaminated area and spreading the spill further.
• Gather materials: Prepare a spill kit with all the necessary supplies before you begin. A typical kit includes:Disposable gloves (latex or nitrile)
• Absorbent material (e.g., paper towels, commercial solidifying powder, or cat litter)
